I was fortunate enough to have Peter & Paula’s guidance in both selling my condo and purchasing my new house. I'll admit, when he first went over his sales plan, which included professional staging, I was wary of the cost. I had to remind myself that I was paying for his expertise, and it would be silly to ignore it, so I went ahead and followed all his suggestions. Peter & Paula took care of scheduling a stager and he worked with a very reasonably priced contractor to execute the changes the stager suggested. The condo went online on a Thursday night, and by Sunday morning, I was getting an offer that was WAY more than I would have settled for.

Peter & Paula’s great advice in selling my condo allowed me to purchase a much nicer home that I originally anticipated. While the sale went much better than I ever expected, I’m afraid I dragged Peter to many, many houses, in both Virginia and Maryland before I found my new home. Peter & Paula where quick to point out points of concern that I would never have noticed, such as subtle evidence of potential water damage and some safety issues that didn't quite come to code. He exhibited great deal of patience as week after week either he or I nixed one house after another.

All his hard work paid off in the end. When we walked into the second of five houses we had scheduled to look at that day, it was love at first sight for me. While I had thought a house like this would have been out of my reach, the extra money from my condo sale sealed the deal.

Peter & Paula Schlossberg were our REALTORS® for the sale of our Lee Boulevard Heights, circa 1940 home of 21 years. Throughout the process, Pete handled all details related to the home repairs and preparation for the home sale. This included arranging for a professional stager, sprucing up the grounds, interior painting, minor structural, encapsulation of the basement crawl space, installation of a partial French drain and sump pump, mold and radon remediation. He sought competitive estimates and insured all this work was done in a cost effective, professional, workmanlike manner. Pete & Paula hosted highly successful open houses, using their extensive knowledge of the neighboorhood (they are our neighbors afterall!) to answer questions.

Pete prepared a matrix giving three price point scenarios and prospective proceeds of sale for each. These proved invaluable as we worked to estimate repairs, budget move & storage costs, and negotiate the purchase of our next home.

As luck would have it, the air conditioner died hours before the home inspection for our first prospective buyer. Pete quickly arranged for an evaluation and replacement of the aged A/C system, and even used his own blankets to sop up water/prevent water damage from an ice dam generated by the failed system.

Finally, Pete’s use of technology facilitated clear communications—keeping me updated on progress since we had vacated the home during the staging and home repair/preparation phase of the project. This technology enabled my remote signing of documents and even settlement from my new location in PA. All in all, Pete & Paulla managed a smooth and timely sale that generated proceeds that exceeded expectation.

Through countless requests to see properties all over Northern Virginia, Pete was patient, guided us smoothly through each step. Peter Schlossberg has been in this business a while and has many contacts, making any of the normal services needed for home buying easy to locate. He helped us find a lender, home inspector, contractor for work if we needed it, settlement agent. Each provider he recommended was professional, competitive, and responsive. Some people say that home buying is one of the most stressful things you can do....Not with Pete. lI would absolutely use him again and because of his knowledge and professionalism, the process was very smooth.

Peter was my real estate agent when purchasing a home. After many years of renting, I finally decided to purchase a condo. Peter was of tremendous help in doing so. He was extremely knowledgeable, always available, and most of all, very patient (it took me over a year to find a condo that fit my needs). When I first started out, Peter took me around different neighborhoods, explaining the advantages and disadvantages of each. This helped me pinpoint a neighborhood I wanted to live in. Once this was done, he took me around to see different condo developments. Again, he pointed out the advantages and disadvantages of units on the market, and never pressured me to make a offer. Many of my friends were amazed at this as when they purchased a home, they told me their agents were always pushing them to make an offer. Some people would describe me as a picky person, so finding a condo that fit my needs was not easy. However, Peter never pushed me to make offers. He just kept reminding me when the right one came along, I would know it. He seemed most concerned about finding the best home for me rather than making a sale. As I said, we searched for over a year and during this time, he was always available to answer questions and show me units on the market. When I say always available, he even took my phone call on his vacation. He treated me as if I was making a million dollar purchase (which I was not). When a unit that fit my needs came on the market, not only did he help me secure it (at a good price given the market), he helped me secure it with the conditions I wanted. I was interested in purchasing some of the furniture in the home, and he arranged this at a very, very favorable price. After the purchase, he has been helping me arrange for some work that needs to be done in the condo. I cannot say enough great things about Peter as a real estate agent. If you want a extremely knowledgeable, hard working, patient, and easy to work with real estate agent, who really enjoys his job, he is the agent for you. When I talk to friends about their home purchasing experiences, they wished they knew about Peter.

When we were first quoted the price we staging, we were reticent because $2700 seemed like a lot of staging . . . we are so glad we took Peter's advice! Several other houses with upgraded amenities (hardwood floors, granite, etc) were going on the market in our neighborhood but our house had 4 offers at or above our listing price within 5 days of being listed. We both believe that Pete's staging made all of the difference.

Unfortunately, the appraisal come in right at the listed price, but we were still very happy with that price and the sellers did not require any changes after the home inspection. All in all, we were very happy with the price, considering that the final price was well above our "best case scenario" price. We would definitely work with Pete and Paulla in the future.

We hired Peter and Paulla Schlossberg to sell our investment property. A great experience. We hired Peter and Paulla after interviewing four realtors. Our first meeting was with Peter and he demonstrated a thorough knowledge of the area and what needed to be done to get the most for our property. He was not the least expensive but was clearly the best and would give us greater value than any of the others. They coordinated everything to ensure the property was ready for sale and widely advertised. When he recommended a higher listing price than we had anticipated we were wary. From start to finish, Mr. Schlossberg handled details that we would not have known about in a manner that was fully communicative, pleasant and efficient. In January, my sister died unexpectedly. Her home was in Arlington, Virginia and we, her heirs and administrators of her estate, live in far corners of the country . While we were in Virginia, we asked Mr. Schlossberg to serve as our real estate agent and serve he did. He and his wife assisted in advising us about clearing out the house and about appropriate charities for donating goods. He engaged a competent , skillful and efficient contractor to complete repairs on the house and oversaw the work. He secured a talented and tasteful stager. He repeatedly had the house cleaned. The landscaping was enriched, again with helpful ideas from his wife. All of this was done in a timely and skillful manner. You should see the pictures! Mr. Schlossberg communicated with us regularly and made the complex paperwork seem fairly easy for us. The house was listed at a good price and sold on the first day with multiple offers. It was a great relief and comfort to us, knowing that our concerns were being handled in an honest and helpful way while we were far away.

He is a really good agent. We have worked with him a couple of times. He did some contracts with us. He referred contractors to us to do work on our house. He contacted us at least one a month to see how we were and to see if we needed anything. He wanted to see if we needed contractors. I also liked that he would send us a daily report of what is going on in the market helping us decide if we were ready to move or not.

Member Comments: Peter started us off by sitting down with us to discuss our needs and preferences for a home, and we got to know each other. Peter helped us zero in on a neighborhood in a metropolitan area we weren't experts in. Over the course of several weeks, Peter took us out as many times as we needed to explore homes and neighborhoods. Peter was typically upbeat but realistic about every home we visited. On some occasions, he had the audacity to say "This isn't the home for us," and to walk out, and he was always right.

When we found a home we liked, Peter got our offer accepted by the seller. Then the inspection turned up some negative things we weren't expecting and weren't prepared to deal with. We had to walk away from the purchase. We felt like we would disappoint him by walking away from the sale, but he never showed it, and he never made us feel that walking away was the wrong thing to do. When we finally found a home that we considered perfect, Peter really pulled through for us. He came out with us twice on Easter Sunday to show the home and work up an offer. What he did to win us the house can only be described as magic. There were seven offers total and though ours was nowhere near the highest bid, his long-standing relationship with the other agent and negotiating tactics won us the home. We got a wonderful home that exceeded our expectations, and it was only because of

Peter's skill and experience that our offer was accepted over numerous others. Peter was always communicative, responsive, and personable. He was prompt to return calls and messages. Even though we knew he had other clients, we always felt he had time for us. It really helped that his wife Paulla helped out and was terrific at helping us wrangle our toddler while checking out homes or going through the closing.

I recently sold two homes using Peter. I have worked with a total of five real estate agents in the past and Peter is by far the best. In my opinion, unless you go with an off-brand agency, all the commissions and fees are the same so the real difference is knowledge base and customer service. Peter is excellent on these two fronts. First he has great contacts for handymen and staging companies. He helped me get the right people in order to make my homes ready to sell. With the first house I got a number of estimates and found that his contacts could do it cheaper, faster and better. I went right to his contacts and saved myself a tremendous amount of time and anguish with the second house. I also took more of his advice the second time around and I believe it paid off.

Peter is very technically savvy so my houses got great exposure once they were on the market. It is important to find a relator who understands that most people shop online before they decide which houses to view in person. Peter has this down to a science.

Peter understands the market and suggested listing prices for both of my homes that were aggressive but reasonable. He also listened to me. I have strong opinions and I needed someone who had ideas but also understood that I had the final say when we disagreed on various points (what to fix, what to paint, who to hire, whether or not to stage, when to lower the price). This is not to say that we disagreed frequently but rather to point out that his customer service is very good. He also works with his wife who is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. A very genuine and lovely person. They are a strong team.

Finally, Peter is utterly reachable. He answers phone calls, texts and emails very quickly. He also initiates contact and I appreciate that. I'm sure he has many clients at once but I always felt like I was the only one he was working with. He is just that reachable.

For the record my first house was under contract in about a month. I wanted to list it at a higher asking price than the market would bear so that accounted for a slight delay. There was a house next door that sold several months later for the same price I got although we went to market a week apart. I attribute much of this success to Peter. My second house was under contract within 72 hours. We didn't even get to do an open house before we had two strong offers.
